Who doesn’t love boozy milkshakes?! So, I was a bit skeptical before I tried this out, but as soon as I had my first sip, all of those thoughts just turned to lots of mmmmm’s. I’m not sure if I can technically call these “recipes” since they only have 2 ingredients, but I guess that’s what I am doing. And guess what! They will be the easiest recipes you’ll ever follow.
I have been wanting to try these basically all summer, and since it technically isn’t fall yet, I decided, “what the heck, let’s do this!” Just under the wire! Plus, when you add wine to something, it transcends seasons right? I think yes. So, let’s get started… I bought some mini wine bottles of sweet red and white, Moscato. Even if you are not a sweet wine fan, you will definitely want to go with sweet ones for these so that they don’t taste bitter with the ice cream. For the ice cream, I obviously went with Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla because I am a Texan through and through (but any vanilla will do just fine).
For the shake, I put about 4 or 5 scoops of ice cream into the blender and topped it off with about 2/3 of a mini bottle of the sweet red wine then blended it until smooth. You can add more ice cream or wine depending on the consistency you like. Then I topped it off with a little whip cream (mainly for looks). For the float, I put about 3 or 4 small scoops into the glass and topped with about 3/4 of a mini bottle Moscato. That’s it guys! BAM!
Now for my first impressions. The shake was amazing and probably my favorite out of the two. The wine flavor wasn’t overly strong, but definitely enough to tell it was a wine milkshake. As I expected because of the ratios, the float had much more of a wine kick. Even though it was a sweet Moscato, it was a little tart with the ice cream. I still thought it was still delicious though. And it got better and better as it melted. So what do y’all think? Would you try these out at home??
