Cinco De Mayo

It’s Cinco de Mayo everybody! As most Texans will tell you, Cinco de Mayo is a pretty big deal down here. And I know you want your Cinco party to be a fancy and fun fiesta and that’s where I come in! This is another event that I got to put together for our awesome clients at Norton, but so many of these details can be translated to a party of any size.

Set the tone by welcoming your guests with a chalkboard of any size featuring the message of “Bienvenidos! Mi Casa Es Tu Casa.” Create colorful table decor with serape runners, colored saint candles, El Pato cans filled with a colorful mix of inexpensive flowers, and sprinkle colorful gum packs around the center pieces. You can even add mis-matched vases with faux or dried billy balls, or potted cacti with neon aquarium rocks. Setup a photo backdrop on a solid color wall using tape or staples to make a arch of paper fans and tissue flowers. If you’re feeling extra festive, add some pom pom garland! If you opt for a full photo booth setup, you can hang the printed photos on a wall close by. It’s always fun to look at everyone’s different pics. You can hang papel picado all around, and even make papel picado inspired signs to mark where your food and drinks are served. If you plan to do favors for your party people, consider mini bottles of tequila, mini potted cactus, or Mexican pralines!

Now, I couldn’t post about this event without showing you guys my favorite part… The Tipsy Tank. We batched our signature cocktails in advance so that we could serve them out of this vintage camper’s window for the event. This may be the one thing that may not translate to a party of ANY size, but I knew how much y’all would like it, so I left it in anyway! And who knows! Maybe you know someone too who would let you borrow THEIR vintage camper for a night. I hope you guys are inspired to host a fiesta for your friends and in any month for that matter! And if you do, please let me know how it turns out. Adios amigos!
