A while back a co-worker of my brother-in-law’s was getting married and wanted some cookies for her bridal shower. He commissioned my sister and I to make them for her with her theme in mind. This is what we came up with! We wanted them to have more dimension and texture to them, so while the icing was still wet, we set smaller cookies in the icing. After they were set enough in the wet icing, we added more decorative dots and swirls around the smaller cookies too. But my favorite part was the ruffle detail. We used small brushes to create the effect on several of them. It was as simple as piping round dots around the edge, then using the brush to drag the icing towards the middle on each of the dots. We couldn’t be happier with the way they turned out!
